What's Open at 5am in Ogden? Breakfast for People Who Start Early

9 September 2026 · 3 min read · Scheduled — not yet published

Ogden gets up early. Between the rail yards, the hospitals, the construction crews and everybody heading up the canyon before the road fills, there is a real population awake at five that the rest of the city never sees.

The five o'clock problem

Most breakfast places in Ogden open somewhere between six and seven. If your shift starts at six, that is no use at all. The realistic options at five in the morning are a service station, a drive-through, or whatever you remembered to put in a bag the night before.

We open at five

Our Ogden shop at 554 Washington Blvd is open 5:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Saturday. The baking starts hours earlier, so the case is already stocked when the doors open — not filling up as you stand there.

The Soda Run counter runs alongside the donut counter at this location, which makes it the only one of our shops where you can get a dirty soda with your breakfast.

What to get before a shift

  • A large kolache. Sausage, egg, cheese and potato, or bacon, egg, cheese and potato. This is a proper breakfast, it holds heat, and you can eat it walking.
  • Coffee from Perks. We pour a local roaster rather than a commodity brewer.
  • A dozen for the crew. Buy ten, get two free. Turning up with a box makes you popular in a way very little else does at five in the morning.

Ordering ahead

If you are on a clock, order ahead and it is boxed and waiting. At that hour, five minutes saved is worth having.

Later in the day

Worth knowing: every donut is half price after 2:00pm, Monday through Thursday. If your day finishes in the afternoon rather than starting at dawn, that is the run to make.
